Detect Hacking

We maintain a large database of urls and attack methods used by hackers and can highlight users attempting to hijack your website. This database is constantly improving and growing.

We can also detect bots looking to exploit issues with common libraries. For example, editors and image uploaders might be exploited by hackers to upload malicious code to your webserver.

SQL Injection has been around a long time. You may think it does not affect you but hackers are coming up with new ways of getting access to your database. Along with many of the url methods we detect, we also look at the user agent and referrer data being sent by a visitor to see if it contains a malicious payload. If these details are being recorded or considered by your website (or perhaps some third party library it uses) you could be vulnerable.

Our code uploads section can show any instances that a user has tried to upload potentially malicious code to your webserver.

Malicious users

Is someone screen scraping your website?

Your competitors might be screen scraping your website for information that can be used to compete with you. Bots might also be scraping for analytics. Scraping can be harmful to your rankings as it might slow down your website for other users including search engines.

We will show which users we suspect of screen scraping allowing you to drill down and see how often they visit and what they get up to.

Is another website leeching your websites resources?

Leeching is the practise of another website linking directly to content (such as images, libraries or downloads) on your website but in an indirect way that users to their website might not even be aware of it. There can be legitimate reasons for another website doing this (perhaps you want someone to reference a brochure). However there are times this is bad etiquette since another website is taking resources and bandwidth from your webserver without you getting the credit.

We can show you which websites are leeching which resources on your website and how often it happens.
